Haitian mangoes to be exact...Cause #iykyk! Mojitos are deliciously, refreshing on a hot summer day, and literally one of my favorite drinks(!!!), so it was no-brainer that the two together would make THEE perfect combo! So I'm giving you the tea on how I made my Spicy “MAN-go" On Mojito, and pairing it with a zesty mango salsa to boot! Read on my love, and let's toast a BIG cheers to your spicy gyal summer!

"Spicy MAN-go On Mojito" Recipe
Ingredients
Garnish
-1 Qty Bundle of Mint Leaves
Fruits
-3 Qty Limes (or you can substitute this for 3 oz of lime juice)
-2 Qty Mangoes (or you can substitute this for 12 oz of mango purée)
Drinks
-12 oz Mango Pureé (or you can substitute and blend 1 qty mango)
-3 oz Lemon-Lime Favored Seltzer
-3 Oz Lime Juice (or you can substitute this for 3 qty limes) Liqueur
-1 oz Simple Syrup
-1/2 Teaspoon Sugar
Wine & Liquor
-12 oz Rum or Light Rum
Frozen
Crushed Ice cubes
Step 1 - Add mango chucks in a blender and blend away; Or you can simply use mango purée, but I, personally, believe fresh mangoes elevate the freshness of the drink
Step 2 - In a shaker, combine lime juice, sugar, simple syrup, & mint and then muddle the mint until it tears and releases the scent (FYI: The sugar will largely help this process).
Step 3 - Strain the mango purée into the shaker.
Step 4 - Add your crushed ice and rum; Then cover your shaker and shake what ya mama gave ya!Â
Step 5 - Now with your Tamarindo, gently rim the top of your glasses so that it is coating about 1/2 of an inch; Then gently rim this same portion of your glass with your tajin. Now you can either pour & spread some tajin in a plate big enough to rim your glass or you can make things more convenient (like me) and purchase this tajin rimmer item off of Amazon. It just makes life, so.much.easier!! Haha!!
Step 6 - Strain your mixture into your glass and top it with seltzer water
Step 7 - Garnish your glasses with a lime slice (I use these), but you can use fresh or dried & add more mint leaves to your drink et voila! Start sippin away!
Now onto the salsa portion...
I decided to pair this sizzlin' cocktail with a deliciously, fresh, mango salsa that I quickly chef'd up using my leftover mango chunks. Now this may seem like a little bit of mango overkill, but let’s be real...Is there even such a thing as too much mango??? Not for me there isn't! Anyhoo, I do feel like the spiciness of the cocktail works well in tandem with the, refreshingly, sweet flavor of the salsa, and so they emanate this interesting dichotomy of spicy & fresh. Ya know...Kinda like how sweet and sour work well together as a dynamic duo. My Caribbean roots had me feening for some plantain chips in place of nachos, and the combo of the mango salsa with the plantain chips is chef's kiss!
