A modern, feminine take on the classic Boss Baby theme, complete with custom stationery, playful details, and plenty of boss-worthy inspiration.

Welcome to the Boardroom
When Aniyah's family returned to Mariage Blanc Designs to celebrate yet another milestone, I couldn't have been more excited.
Over the years, I've had the privilege of designing several of their family's most meaningful celebrations, including their wedding, birthday celebrations, a baby shower, and now Aniyah's first birthday. There truly is no greater compliment than having clients continue to trust me with life's biggest moments.
This time, the assignment was clear...
Boss Baby.

Rather than following the traditional blue color palette often associated with the theme, I reimagined it with bold shades of hot pink, crisp black and white, fresh hydrangeas, and playful executive-inspired details that perfectly suited our tiny CEO.
The result is a celebration that feels whimsical yet polished, playful yet thoughtfully designed, proving that children's parties can embrace fun without sacrificing style.
After all...
Every CEO deserves a celebration worthy of the corner office.
And on that day...
Aniyah was and STILL is the Boss haha!!

Designing the Experience
One of my favorite challenges as an event designer is taking playful themes and elevating them without losing the fun.
For Aniyah's celebration, every design decision embraces the Boss Baby concept while still feeling polished, whimsical, and beautifully coordinated. Crisp black and white patterns pair effortlessly with vibrant pink linens, fresh white hydrangeas, and custom stationery to create a celebration that delights children while remaining visually sophisticated enough for the adults.
Rather than relying on oversized character décor, I focus on layering meaningful details throughout the room. From the personalized signage to the executive-inspired centerpieces and coordinated paper goods, every element contributes to telling one cohesive story.
💡 Stephanie's Designer Tip:
Don't feel confined by a theme's traditional colors. Reimagining familiar themes with an unexpected palette is often what transforms a cute party into a memorable one.

The CEO's Desk Details
Every successful CEO knows...
It's all about the details.
Fortunately, our tiniest CEO seems to agree.
One of my favorite design features from this celebration is the custom centerpiece concept. Miniature executive briefcases from Oriental Trading become the foundation for each arrangement before being topped with lush white hydrangeas and custom Boss Baby character cutouts.
Rather than placing flowers directly on the table, elevating each arrangement atop the briefcases instantly reinforces the theme while adding height, personality, and visual interest to every guest table.
The hydrangeas aren't chosen by accident either. Besides beautifully softening the overall design, they're one of my favorite flowers when I want to create luxurious-looking arrangements without exhausting the floral budget. Their full blooms make a big statement while remaining surprisingly cost-effective.
The tablescape continues the story with sleek black chargers, crisp white dinnerware, vibrant pink satin napkins folded into miniature shirts complete with pink neckties by my assistant, and bold black-and-white striped runners that tie everything together. Every place setting subtly reinforces the Boss Baby concept without overwhelming the design.
Even the smallest details carry the theme.
Miniature milk bottles serve as another playful nod to the movie, while custom sugar cookies, personalized cupcakes, and one of my favorite signs from the dessert display proudly remind guests that...
"Cookies Are for Closers."
Whether guests immediately catch the clever business reference or simply smile at the pun, it quickly becomes one of my favorite details from the entire celebration.
Behind the Design
One of my favorite challenges as an event designer is taking playful themes and elevating them without losing the fun.
For Aniyah's celebration, every design decision embraces the Boss Baby concept while still feeling polished, whimsical, and beautifully coordinated. Crisp black and white patterns pair effortlessly with vibrant pink linens, fresh white hydrangeas, and custom stationery to create a celebration that delights children while remaining visually sophisticated enough for the adults.
Rather than relying on oversized character décor, I focus on layering meaningful details throughout the room. From personalized signage and executive-inspired centerpieces to coordinated paper goods and themed desserts, every element contributes to one cohesive story that celebrates our tiny CEO.
💡 Stephanie's Designer Tip
Don't feel confined by a theme's traditional color palette. Reimagining familiar themes with unexpected colors is often what transforms a cute party into one guests never forget.
Stationery Makes a Difference
If you've followed La Vie de la Fête for a while, you've probably noticed one thing...
I'm obsessed with stationery.
Having studied Graphic Design, I believe paper goods should do far more than communicate information. They should become part of the overall guest experience.
For Aniyah's celebration, I design nearly every printed element, including the invitation, welcome sign, personalized favor bag labels, activity signage, thank-you labels, and several additional paper goods that carry the Boss Baby theme from beginning to end.
One of my favorite additions is the custom milestone board, highlighting Aniyah's favorite things, personality traits, milestones, nicknames, and accomplishments from her very first year.
Guests naturally gather around it as they arrive, making it both a meaningful keepsake and an interactive conversation piece.
The personalized chip bags and character artwork are sourced through talented Etsy artisans, while the remaining stationery is designed in-house to ensure every printed piece feels cohesive from beginning to end.
Because great stationery doesn't simply match the party...It becomes part of the story.
Don't Forget the Kids
As beautiful as the décor may be, children's parties should always include activities that keep little guests entertained.
After all...
The party IS for them.
For Aniyah's celebration, children enjoy face painting, balloon artistry, music from our DJ, and a dedicated activity station complete with coloring books, paint supplies, crayons, and creative projects.
I even create playful signage welcoming the children to the activity station because every tiny CEO deserves a little creative downtime between meetings.
While the adults admire the décor and spend time catching up, the children are busy laughing, creating, and making memories of their own.
To me, that's exactly what a successful children's party is all about.

A Few Ideas You Can Borrow
✔ Don't be afraid to reinvent a classic party theme with an unexpected color palette.
✔ Hydrangeas are one of my favorite flowers for creating luxurious-looking arrangements without an extravagant floral investment.
✔ Personalized stationery elevates every celebration and reinforces the theme long after the invitations are opened.
✔ Interactive entertainment keeps little guests engaged while allowing parents to relax and enjoy the celebration.
✔ Sometimes the smallest details leave the biggest impression. Miniature milk bottles, playful dessert signage, and thoughtfully styled centerpieces all help tell the story.
Stephanie's Little Details
❤️ Favorite Detail
I'm always partial to the tablescape, and this celebration is no exception. From the executive briefcase centerpieces to the vibrant pink paper napkins folded into miniature shirts complete with coordinating pink neckties by my assistant, every place setting tells a small part of the overall story. Together, those details transform a simple banquet table into something playful, polished, and completely on theme.
🎨 Favorite DIY
Without question, the personalized party favor bags. They are simple to create but add another custom layer to the guest experience while reinforcing the theme from beginning to end. I also have to give my assistant credit for beautifully folding each satin napkin into miniature shirts and ties. Those little details make such a big impact.
✨ Favorite Design Moment
Standing back and seeing the completed room for the very first time. The bold pink accents, crisp black-and-white details, lush hydrangeas, executive briefcases, coordinated stationery, and smiling guests all come together exactly as I'd envisioned.
💖 Client's Vision
A playful Boss Baby celebration with a feminine twist that celebrates their tiny CEO in style while creating a memorable experience for family and friends.
💡 Designer Tip
Never underestimate the power of cohesive details. Guests may not remember every individual decoration, but they'll always remember how a celebration made them feel. When every element works together, the entire experience becomes more memorable.
Final Thoughts
One of my favorite parts of designing children's celebrations is finding ways to balance imagination with intentional design.
Boss Baby may be a playful theme, but that doesn't mean it can't feel polished, personalized, and beautifully executed. From custom stationery and thoughtful centerpieces to interactive entertainment and meaningful details, every design choice helps tell Aniyah's story while celebrating one very important milestone.
To Aniyah and her wonderful family, thank you once again for allowing Mariage Blanc Designs to be part of yet another milestone. Designing your wedding, birthday celebrations, baby shower, and now your little boss's first birthday has truly been an honor. There is no greater compliment than having clients continue to trust me with life's biggest moments, and I remain incredibly grateful for your continued support throughout the years.
I hope this celebration inspires you to think beyond the expected and reminds you that even the most playful party themes can be elevated through thoughtful design, intentional details, and a little creativity.
