For the holidays, it's customary to hear the tunes of Mariah Carey's classic "All I Want For Christmas Is You" blasting in every store. It's also expected to see grocery stores flooded with spiraled cuts of ham, loads of cranberry sauce cans, and an assortment of sweets ranging from pumpkin and sweet potato pies to an array of decorated sugar cookies. Those are the wonderful things that make the magic of the holiday season so nostalgic! But, even the most festive person has got to admit that it's quite refreshing when they come across a different take on something. After all, we're meant to get our minds going & thinking of new innovative ideas and creative ways to do things!

#1 - Home Smelling Like The Holidays...

Slices of oranges and limes, cranberries, cinnamon, star anise, and rosemary floating in water, creating a vibrant, festive aroma as a simmer pot.

There is just something about the holidays season that I appreciate more than other periods of the year, and I think it has a lot to do with the overall sensory experience it gives me, which I partly attribute to my sun sign. My zodiac sign is that of Taurus and it is understood that the sign is ruled by Venus, which appreciates beauty and certain creature comforts that highlight the 5 senses. Hence why I gravitate to lots of things that denote beauty & luxury, and lowkey probably has something to do with why I was always drawn to be a designer.

But I digress...I'm not saying that only Taureans appreciate the finer things, but I couldn't help but notice why the holiday season always give me the warm & fuzzies. Then, I got to thinking...OH, yes! It's the beautifully lit homes with the colorful string lights, paired with the smell of freshly baked sugar cookies, amidst the sound of carols playing in the background. My point is...It is due to my 5 senses being happily attuned to it all!

And so, how great is it when guests come to your home and it gives off the aroma of the holidays. Whether it be the sugar cookie or peppermint candles from Bath & Bodyworks or the smell of a freshly cut Christmas trees, it all makes a difference! If you're someone who appreciates taking a more organic approach, and enjoys a simmering festive fragrance encapsulating your home, then try my DIY recipe that will divinely, emanate a wonderful aroma of citruses, cranberries, cinnamon, & rosemary. It’s the little sensory touch that instantly makes your home feel cozy, inviting, and utterly unforgettable for every guest who walks through your door.”

#2 - "Snowball Punch" Recipe

Christmas cookies and ice cream snowball punch on a kitchen island with festive decor. A sign reads "NICE." Snowman towel and evergreen garland add holiday cheer.

If you've been following me for a while, then you should know by now that I thoroughly enjoy creating signature foods & drinks for my events that not only coincide with the party's theme, but are also synonymous with other variables, such as the current season, certain symbols, stories, etc.

So, creating a party punch and jeuje'in it up with a fun accent like melty "snowballs" is what makes the difference between plain Jane...to YES showstopper! This cocktail/mocktail certainly packs a punch! Pun totally intended haha!! So, definitely get into it! Like I always say, it's all in the subtle details!

#3 - Bougie-on-a-Budget Christmas Cocktail Party

Woman in a black dress with gold sequined sleeves smiles in a kitchen. A table is set with appetizers and small decorative trees.

Let’s be for real...No one wants to juggle a heavy plate of food and a cocktail, while mixing, jingling, & mingling at the same time. So, forget the formal sit-down dinners. Friendsmas can totally be all about bougie bite-sized hors d'oeuvres.

Think elevated appetizers that look sophisticated, but won’t blow your budget: Cranberry Meatball Bites, Mini Cranberry Brie Cups, or a chic charcuterie board. Keep it cute, keep it chic, and most importantly, keep it conveniently, finger-friendly so that your guests can mix, jingle, mingle, and munch all night long. Take a look at my are my Christmas Cocktail party digital invites to get you started!

#4 - "Star of Wonder" Pineapple & Kielbasa Appetizers

A little sweet, a little smoky, and a whole lotta “Who made these?! They're freakin' delicious!” Add a little je ne sais quoi to your kitchen island spread with my “Star of Wonder” Pineapple & Kielbasa Appetizers. They’re sweet, savory, and totally crowd-pleasing,which is the perfect combo of effortless and elevated. Stack them on fancy toothpicks for an elegant bite-sized presentation that looks luxe but takes minimal effort to make. They’re simple to prep, pretty to plate, and pack a punch of flavor that feels way fancier than it actually is.

#5 - Galsmas: PJ's, Pizza, & Prosecco

Woman in red pajamas garnishes drinks with cranberries and rosemary. Pizza, festive cocktails, and decorations on table. Joyful holiday scene.

I think most people can appreciate a comfy, cozy, more laid-back, holiday gathering. It allows them to kick off their shoes LITERALLY, throw on some fuzzy socks, and just sit-back and relax with some good ole' Christmas Hallmark movie classics. I mean who doesn't like that?! Especially, with all the mayhem that the holidays bring. It's nice to just have a gathering with your besties where you can just chill and not have to worry about wearing a fancy outfit that requires shapewear haha!! Hey, just keepin' it real! I love a cute fit, but I love me some comfy Christmas pajamas too!

This idea is great for your closest gals, as it can be a fun take on "Galsmas" pajama party with an intimate group of your ride or die chicas! But, it also works great for family gatherings and larger groups of friends. Whichever way you decide to do it...Just sit back, relax, & pop the bubbly! Oh, and purchasing a bunch of cute, fuzzy Christmas socks & cozy blanket throws from Amazon and handing them out to guests as they arrive is just the whipped cream to your hot chocolate!

If you're interested in throwing your own Galmas PJ party, then check out my digital guide that shows how I do it, along with my must-haves to make the party cheeky, cute, & fun!

#6 - Kidsmas: PJ's, Pizza, & Punch

ree

Of course we can't leave the youngin's hanging...So, a different take on the "pjs, pizza, & prosecco" can be "pjs, pizza, & punch" because who doesn't like that combo?! Plus, it's the perfect excuse to make my Snowball Punch recipe!

In this case, we're giving the kid's their own mocktail "punch!" And, I'm sure you'll get deemed the "cool" parent if you make this "Snowball Punch" recipe because its fun, cool, delicious, and most importantly, kid-approved!

Holiday sleepovers are so much fun whether you're a kid or adult! And, pajama parties work out perfectly for the kids whose birthdays fall during winter break. Don't forget to also hand them some fuzzy Christmas socks upon arrival! Not only will it keep their footies warm, but it'll make for great party favors. I always love a good 2-for-1 combo!

#7 - Strawberry & Pistachio Wreath Recipe

ree

A wreath that looks straight out of a boutique bakery?! Yes, please!

Listen, I get it...You want to be able to serve dishes that are beautifully aesthetic, delicious, & most importantly, EASY TO MAKE (!!!) because you don't have time to labor in the kitchen for hours...BUT, you still want it to look like you labored in the kitchen for hours haha!! Why are we like this?! Haha!! But, I gotchu boo! What if I told you that this is 100% feasible with the right kind of approach, and by right-approach, I mean just heeding my host hacks! Luckily for you, ya girl already did the leg work by stumbling upon a few inspirational recipes and putting my own twists on things.

The Strawberry & Pistachio Wreath is your new holiday hero. This festive beauty is as easy as it is elegant. Fresh strawberries and crunchy pistachios arranged in a circular “wreath” shape, drizzled with a touch of agave syrup or dusted with powdered sugar for that extra glam touch. Not only does it look straight out of a renowned bakery, but it’s also completely edible, making it the perfect conversation starter at any holiday gathering.

Serve it on a platter or lazy Susan so guests can pick and nibble as they mingle, and watch it disappear faster than you can say “ho ho ho!”

#8 - Chic DIY Donut Wreath

Pastry wreath garnished with cranberries and rosemary on a brown surface, surrounded by donuts, a red bow, "Merry Christmas" text, and decor.

The wreath idea is so nice, I had to do it twice! For those, who still don't wanna pull out the baking mitts for idea #7, but still want to do it up...This is a great NO-BAKE alternative! I say no-bake because it literally involved me purchasing a few boxes of Entenmanns' or whatever brand donuts you prefer and doing some light arts & crafts.

Just run to your local Michael's and follow the steps below:

  • Step 1.) Purchase a floral ring

  • Step 2.) Wrap the ring in saran-wrap

  • Step 3.) Use toothpicks to assemble the donuts into a beautiful donut wreath. You can use rosemary to fill in any gaps! (By the way, FYI, rosemary will be your best friend decor-wise during the holiday season!)

This sweet treat combines sweet treats with stylish presentation, making it both a beautiful centerpiece and a conversation starter. Bonus points that it's an easy and budget-friendly, DIY.

#9 - Christmas Around The World...

Two Haitian women in a festive kitchen, smiling as they prepare a soup joumou meal. Table decorated with vegetables, ornaments, and a framed photo.

Bring in a little global flair to your holiday festivities by celebrating traditions from around the world. This approach is both about flavor & fun. Check out my personal favorites: Haitian Crémas, a rich, creamy, & smooth cocktail, with just the right amount of kick; Haitian Paté, a flaky, savory, and totally addictive golden pastry traditionally stuffed with seasoned ground beef (chicken or fish), and a perfect blend of herbs, spices, and a hint of heat, giving each bite a punch of bold, festive flavor; & and the iconic Soup Joumou, a comforting, spiced squash soup with a story as bold as its taste.

Incorporating dishes like these not only elevates your menu, but also sparks conversation and connection at the table. Think of it as bringing a little international magic to your holiday soirée. Your guests get something unique to taste, and you get all the host points for serving up sophistication and flavor in equal measure.

#10 - Baking Spirits Bright...

Woman in a festive holiday sweater rolls dough in a cozy kitchen. Cookie cutters, baking tins, and Christmas-themed items are on the counter.

Nothing says holiday cheer quite like a kitchen filled with the smell of fresh-baked treats. And, it’s a perfect way to bring the kids, family, & friends together and add a touch of fun & effort to your party. Think festive cookies, mini cheesecakes, or even our playful pastry letters that double as a letter & dessert to Santa!

Baking doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive because it’s all about presentation, portion, and most importantly, the vibes. Use pretty trays, cupcake liners, & edible accents to make simple recipes feel luxe, and let guests nibble while mingling. By the time the festivities start, the aroma, and the sweet bites will have everyone totally feeling cozy and merry.

#11 - Twas The Night Before Christmas...

ree

Who says the party has to happen on Christmas Day? Many cultures, including mine, REALLY celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve, and it’s the perfect opportunity to throw a festive shindig the night before. Make it memorable by creating your own traditions...Like matching pajamas, late-night sips of Haitian Crémas & Haitian Patés midnight prayers, holiday movie marathons, baking marathons, midnight gift openings, or any sentimental ritual that makes the night truly special.

The key? Make it fun, merry, and uniquely yours. By embracing the “night before” spirit, you give your guests a one-of-a-kind experience that feels intimate, playful, and cheerfully, curated-all while keeping the vibe cozy, relaxed, and totally memorable.

#12 - Christmas Morning Brunch: Bubbly Bellinis, Fizz, Flannels, & Flapjacks

ree

Turn Christmas morning into a cute & totally calm celebration with a brunch that’s equal parts indulgent and effortless. Think bubbly "Jingle Bell Rock" Bellinis or fizzy spritzers, a stack of fluffy pancakes, and a spread of pastries and breakfast bites, all while rocking matching flannels with your family.

Whether you’re flipping flapjacks, popping bellinis, or just vibing in your PJs, it’s the perfect way to keep the holiday spirit going. Because honestly, what’s better than brunching in your pjs with a little sparkle in your glass? So, yes, less...AHHHH (!!!) with standing in the kitchen for hours, and more FA-LA-LA (!!!), along with laughter, bites, and bubbles!
